Loren Shevitz (Director), who is a graduate of the University of Chicago's Master's Program in Computer Science, became involved in music at an early age, learning to read music and play the piano when he was 4. Since then, he has had piano, voice, and jazz lessons off and on. He has been in many choirs as a youth, ranging from Temple Kol Ami to the Michigan all-state Honors Choir. He was in the Men's Glee Club and a founding member of Kol HaKavod as an undergraduate at the University of Michigan.

Loren has been a producer of the National Championship of Collegiate A Cappella and the creator of the first Midwestern Jewish a Cappella Festival, Striking A Chord. He created the role of Phineas in a concept recording of Aaron Alon's musical theater setting of the novel A Separate Peace and played the role of Chester the Polish candy-maker in the musical Nobody Likes Retsina for the Community Arts Center Players.
